My passion for Latin Music has its origin in my hometown. Since 1981, the Zentrum Zoo e.V. in Tübingen organised the "Viva Afro Brasil". The annual festival's line-up included artists like Daniela Mercury, Oscar d'Leon, Jose el Canario or Celia Cruz, and has had an significant influence on my choice of music from the very start of my career as a DJ.
Within almost 20 years of experience in promotion and djing, I have developed a broad range in Latin Music emphasising the old school Mambo as well as spinning the latest releases. My bookinglist includes such well-known clubs as Zapata (Stuttgart), Kagan.Lounge (Freiburg), Buddha.Lounge (Stuttgart), Havanna (Berlin) or SODA Palais (Berlin). Furthermore, several Salsa Festivals in the UK and Germany and a weekly radio show on Radio Dreyeckland are on the list, too. In summer 2003, I joined the team of Salsodromo in Karlsruhe spinning the music on the salsa/mambo-floor in the Europahalle while Michael Spleth and Jan Garcia, both radio jockeys of South-Germany's famous SWR3 radio station, were spinning their records on the second floor. Right from the start, I used to be resident DJ and technical supervisor of the Kagan.Lounge (Freiburg). The exclusive club is situated on the top floors of a 180 feet solar-tower offering a 360° view over the city of Freiburg and the black forest. The interior has been designed by Vladimir Kagan (New York) and Robert Williams. When Mambito moved to another area in Germany, the legendary Sunday Salsa Vista in the Kagan.Lounge came to an end. Following requests of guests and dancers, DJ Mambito has been booked for every annual Salsafestivals in Berlin since 2001. |
